Attunement 01:04
Genesis, Chapter 22 After these things God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; he cut the wood for the burnt offering, and set out and went to the place in the distance that God had shown him.

Demons 03:15
You've seen the movies Breathtaking livestreams selling power and abuse You've seen the best scenes Silicone fantasies, they're better than the truth And those documentaries that Nobody wants to see They've ruined cheeseburgers for you For a little while You've followed the pack Lying on your back for the black and white and grey You've found salvation Fleeing temptation both by science and by faith You've turned the other cheek To flowing milk and honey sweet In favor of kale and couscous You cannot stand it This demographic, it's too damn predictable Trends pass as virtue Sheep will not hurt you 'til you let them think they're wolves Nausea and disgust pass as Meaning and purpose as The garden goes in and out of view You misheard Jesus Goodness and weakness are conflated all the time If you cannot break laws Then you do not have claws, and maybe that's the greater crime So get off that highest horse That seat is saved for men at war Who require it to see enemy lines To lead the herd to victory Or off a cliff, into the sea 'Til demons have nowhere left to hide For a little while

Birthright 03:43
Lay me down Cover my eyes with your hand Hold my crown In your lap What is love? I don’t care Call it lust, cut my hair Cut my hair ‘Cause nobody needs me like you Some things are better than true What I would give for some food, for some wine Take what is promised to me Throw all the pearls to pigs See what you make of this bleeding birthright Holy ground Let this cup pass from me Take this crown And its thorns What is truth? No one cares Wash your hands, if you dare If you dare ‘Cause nobody needs me like you Some things are better than true What I would give for some food, for some wine Take what is promised to me Throw all the pearls to pigs See what you make of this bleeding birthright Nobody needs me like you Some things are better than true What I would give for some food, for some wine Take what is promised to me Throw all the pearls to pigs See what you make of this bleeding birthright

Funny 03:54
Look at how the spider falls Kicking wild, call it grace Imagine looking up Back behind you, all around you Just empty space And now you cannot find a foothold Driven on by circumstance Making meaning out of details That’s a funny way to dance You like to listen to the birds But the music starts to change When you know it’s not a love song It’s a streetfight, it’s a warzone A different kind of cage And dow you cannot find the bassline You clap your hands to catch the beat Making music as a lifeline That’s a funny way to sing That’s a funny way to sing That’s a funny way to sing That’s a funny way to sing Here we go, back to the good times Writing stories in the stars Turning water into cheap wine That’s just who we are Yeah, that’s just who we are

Mount Moriah 01:08
On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place far away. Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the boy and I will go over there; we will worship, and then we will come back to you.” Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together. Isaac said to his father Abraham, “Father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham said, “God himself will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.

What was it like, passenger side of that white pickup with the camper on top The smell of chlorine and tangerine skins all over the floor mats, you never cleaned them up When it was done, we’d grab the dogs and take the 17 to the country store, Mountainaire Walking at night, those moonlit pines, you know I saw a lot of faces but you were never scared How did it feel, turning the wheel, with no power steering, bet it made it worse Methadone games, are you ashamed? You know I wish you didn’t hide it with all that hurt Why did it stop, throwing the ball across the street until a car came, you always saw it first Change isn’t free, I’ve got your knees, I don’t remember anytime when everything worked Where could I run, your only son, I’ll carry you with me, the tower and the ghost Some things don’t change, I cannot say what it means to know you love me You love me, Dad, I know

It's painted on a canvas, and it's written on a page Scribbled on a napkin in the dark It's ringing in a whisper, and it's screaming on a stage Setting fire to my heart And were our hearts not burning within us Did not the rocks cry, "This is why you're here" Let us defend this most holy mountain Let none disturb our city on a hill It's stitched into the banner, and it's waving with the flag It's stained in black and in white But there's comfort in the contrast, in the line drawn in the sand Welcomed distraction in the fight And were our hearts not burning within us Did not the rocks cry, "This is why you're here" Let us defend this most holy mountain Let none disturb our city on a hill It's timeless and eternal, the water and the blood A valley to find rest in late at night It's excrement and it's sacrament, saliva in the mud Perfect hill on which to die And were our hearts not burning within us Did not the rocks cry, "This is why you're here" Let us defend this most holy mountain Let none disturb our city on a hill And were our hearts not burning within us Did not the Lord say, "There's no other way" Let us protect this most precious garden Because we need it, the apple and the snake

So It Goes 02:52
The sunny sky was smiling when the river turned to blood The pantries full of frogs and all our nostrils full of bugs With a boil on my thigh as clouds of locusts hid the sun There must have been a “why” but I don’t see a smoking gun But so it goes, so it goes And it might not help to know But so it goes Well the devil and the angels played a game to test the weak The devil bet on reason and the angels bet on me So now I’m naked as a newborn and I’m laden with disease There might have been a “why” but I feel like their guinea pig But so it goes, so it goes And it might not help to know But so it goes, so it goes And in some way I’m not alone And so it goes While sweating in Gethsemane, I prayed one final prayer To find the crack in everything, the truth within the dare Now I’ll take up this old cross to see just how much I can bear There might not be a “why” but I don’t know, I don’t care So it goes, so it goes And it might not help to know But so it goes, so it goes And in some way I’m not alone And so it goes

A beautiful home, a pearly white gate The one that I wanted, I still want today With peace of mind And no foundation Up in the clouds, above all the cold And shimmering sadness, the streets made of gold With milk and wine And no foundation Lend me your ear I’ve nothing to say I just want to hear how the noise sounds from space That weightless flight No foundation So pull out the rug and topple the throne Copernican madness, tear down this home With truth and lies And no foundation Give me your eyes And teach me to see Before there was light or the contrast between Wrong and right No foundation No, give me a bite Restore that old spell I need black and white, give me heaven and hell And faith as sight No foundation

Provision 01:26
When they came to the place that God has shown him, Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order. He bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to kill his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

Lean Into It 03:55
Somehow, I feel much older now The sweat caught in my mouth has lost its salt Slow down, it's time to spit it out And if the fates allow, to sing their song When the sun is strong, when the land is dry When the dance don't work, when the crops all die When the sun is strong, man, lean into it I feel a rod caught in the wheel An arrow in my heel; something's wrong But at last, I've been tied to the mast So as the ship goes past, I sing along When the sun is strong, when the land is dry When the dance don't work, when the crops all die When the sun is strong, man, lean into it When the rain comes down, when the wood won't take When the lights go out and the thunder breaks When the rain comes down, man, lean into it When the sun is strong, when the land is dry When the dance don't work, when the crops all die When the sun is strong, man, lean in When the rain comes down, when the wood won't take When the lights go out and the thunder breaks When the rain comes down, man, lean in When the sky gets dark, when the moon is blood When your monkey heart beats an ancient drum When the sky gets dark, man, lean in When the trumpets sound, when the curtain's torn When the walls come down and the lions roar When the trumpets sound, man, lean into it Lean into it Lean into it

Psalm 151 03:37
Put your finger in my wound Touch my hip and side Pour me out as rich perfume Old skin with new wine Show to me my poverty in wealth Promise me my honesty in sickness and in health Stop the bleeding, raise the dead Let me touch your robe Stop the voices in my head When they think they know Carry me through valleys of death Let me see divinity in everything that has breath

Abwoon 00:39
Our Father in heaven Hallowed be your name Your kingdom come Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory Forever and ever Amen

The goal was met, the promise kept, behold the Promised Land The honey running thick just like they swore And with sticky eyes you realize the prize is in your hand It’s the day that you’ve been waiting for How they line the streets, the crowd competes with sparklers and steel And all the banners that you do not mean to ignore But there’s a quarter mile between your smile and the way you really feel About the day that you’ve been waiting for And now this great procession banned from heaven storms the pearly gates As St. Peter takes your coat and holds the door And you wonder why you gave your life for such a stupid thing On the day that you’ve been waiting for Behold the mighty lamb, the son of man, the light shines from his face! But if you’re honest, you had half-expected more And the great desire that fed the fire has already been replaced Another day that you’ll be waiting for So now it’s just the way of this funny ape to not be satisfied But you’re closer at the start than at the goal So when you reach the end and drop the pen and reach again you find That it’s the day that you’ve been waiting for ‘Cause it’s today that you’ve been waiting for

The Best 03:53
I saw the crooked sign I heard a voice from heaven speak I felt the ghost pass over me I seek the tie that binds This providence and circumstance I do not hide, no, here I am So now, I raise the knife And know that there will be no interruption this time I’m giving the best and the rest is out of my mind I saw but now I’m blind My father has forsaken me My friends have all fallen asleep I seek but do not find No, if this cup won’t pass from me I’ll raise a glass to everything So now, dress me in white And know that there will be no resurrection this time I’m giving the best and the rest is out of mind
